Children’s Art Competition

Children's Art Competition Returns to Hampstead

Our Children's Art Competition is back. Open to primary school pupils, Reception through Year 6, across Hampstead and the surrounding North London area.

This year's theme: Heath & Heart, Celebrating Your Local Community. Pupils look at what makes their neighbourhood theirs. The heath. The streets. The people who make it home.

We're giving participating schools a short teaching pack alongside the brief. Three sessions art teachers can drop into an existing scheme of work, or build out further if they want to. No extra planning required.

Entries go up on the wall at the Hampstead fair, next to galleries from around the world. Three age categories: Reception and Year 1, Years 2 and 3, Years 4 to 6. Winners and runners-up get free tickets to the fair.

For parents, a chance to see their child's work hung in an art fair setting. For schools, a way into the art world that goes beyond a single afternoon.

We've run this fair in Hampstead for 14 years. Last year's competition doubled in size: 96 entries from 19 schools. Backing local schools is part of how we show up for Hampstead, not just occupy it for a weekend.
